As many of you have seen, MaCC has a new Private Messaging and Friend system.
These systems were built from scratch, and incorporated features I have seen in the past that worked well from other sites and exclude others that did not. It's not perfect by a long shot, but a great starting point!
These systems relies heavily on AJAX, which means you must have JavaScript enabled. Depending on data and feedback, I may provide non-ajax versions.
Hopefully these systems seem pretty straightforward, but if something seems confusing or just plain does not work, please provide feedback ; ).
Below Ill highlight some of the new features and changes:
Privacy LevelsThere currently TWO levels of privacy, with the ability to determine specifics within each setting.
Private - On this level, only your friends can PM you and see your Profile*.
Public - Anyone can send you PM's, and see your Profile*
*Items viewable within your profile can be turned on or off based on your own preference, which can be accessed through the Profile Set Up page.
Email OptionsYou now have Three options on what and when you receive emails.
-
Site Related News (newsletters, site updates, things like this letter)
-
Private Message Alerts (receiving alerts when others PM you)
-
Friend Request and Confirmations I dislike spam with a PASSION! One reason why I developed this Messaging system is so I can give you site news via my own network and not clutter up yours.
Ignoring UsersIf someone sends you a friend request, you can either confirm or ignore them. Once a user has been ignored, they can no longer send you PM's or Friend Requests.
You can manage your Ignored Users list within your Inbox page. You can un-ignore users at any time.
Friends Users can be invited from there profile page or in other users friend lists.
You can have as many friends as you would like.
Your friends pictures are sorted by actual pictures and not default MaCC picts. (so there is no confusion or hurt feelings ; )
These systems have been up for about a month now and I am continually monitoring them. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to submit them by PM, Forum or Feedback form.
