A study from the University of California in Los Angeles (United States) suggests that men who usually pay for sex are more likely to have committed or commit rape and other sexual acts of aggressive character.
To reach this conclusion, the researchers counted with the participation of 1200 men similar in age, ethnicity and socio-economic level, who met for about two hours and was promised anonymity. Of the 1200, 101 men who said they usually pay for sex and 101 men who had not done so never were selected.
The results, published in the journal 'The Journal of Interpersonal Violence', revealed that the men who paid for sex shared certain key characteristics with the men who are at risk of committing a sexual assault.
"Both groups tend to have a preference for impersonal sex, fear of being rejected by women, a history of committing sexually aggressive acts and a hostile male self-identification (personality narcissistic, hostility towards women or desire to have power over them)." Those who buy sex have less empathy for women in prostitution and see them as inherently different from others", says Linda Allen, co-author of the study.
"We hope that this research will lead to the rejection of the myth that the buyers of sex are just sexually frustrated guys," says Melissa Farley, leader of the study.Follow This Approach and Learn How to Get Rid Of

Also, the study emphasized risk factors such as antisocial behavior, the preference for impersonal sex, treatment of sex more as a sport than as part of an intimate relationship and a hostile masculinity.
